In-Building Point Leak Detection
RATMON utilises state-of-the-art leak detection technology to monitor pipelines and other critical infrastructure systems. By identifying potential issues before they escalate, RATMON can help reduce downtime, prevent costly damage, and enhance overall operational reliability. Explore our products to see how we can assist your installation.
Mechanical Piping Services with Leak Detection
In addition to in-building leak detection, RATMON provides comprehensive monitoring solutions for external mechanical systems. Our leak detection systems cover a wide range of services, including waste heat recovery, cooling systems, chemical pipelines, drainage, and tanks.
With the same 24/7 remote monitoring capabilities, RATMON ensures that these external systems are protected from costly damage, downtime, and resource wastage. By integrating external mechanical service monitoring into our portfolio, we offer a complete solution for both building infrastructure and external systems.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is leak detection necessary in data centres?
The two main reasons are uptime risk and knowing about an issue early on before it becomes a catastrophic failure. Even minor moisture around CRAC/CRAH lines, chilled-water pipework, condensate, valves or underfloor voids can trigger outages, data loss and expensive recovery. Ratmon solutions follow industry guidance that emphasises that early, addressable moisture alarms let trained staff intervene before a line or fitting fails completely, avoiding major incidents.
What data centre areas can RATMON monitor?
RATMON solutions can be used in both the white (equipment) and grey (infrastructure) spaces in data centres. In white space zones, RATMON can be used under raised floors beneath server racks, where chilled water or condensate pipework might run. In addition to cable-tray runs, underfloor ducts and dual-containment piping that traverses zones.
In the grey spaces, RATMON is principally used to monitor chilled water and heating loop pipework in mechanical plant rooms. Valve-chambers, tanks and auxiliary utility services that feed the white space require monitoring.
Does RATMON offer real-time leakage alerts?
Yes. RATMON provides 24/7 real-time monitoring with instant alerts via web, mobile, BMS and MODBUS; devices also issue local visual/audible alarms. For networked deployments, alarms can be pushed to supervisors/operations.
Can RATMON be integrated with existing building management systems (BMS)?
Yes. The ILA is a standalone leak detection unit with its own touchscreen display for local status and alarms, but it can also integrate with a BMS via relay output or MODBUS communication.
The same integration options are available on the RAT-Combo and RAT-2 units, which are more suited to larger or remote monitoring applications, while the ILA remains the most secure and convenient choice for individual rooms or zones requiring independent monitoring.
How does leak detection reduce downtime risk in data centres?
Ratmon provides 24/7 continuous surveillance to monitor for faults before they escalate to equipment damage or service impact. This rapid detection, coupled with precise location information enables engineers to go straight to the fault, reducing the Mean-Time-To-Repair (MTTR) and limiting the affected footprint.
